Temperatures rose overnight, and just ahead of our J and J Midday Show we’re at 60 degrees, where last night during the storms in southern Ionia County we were barely approacing 50. Storms today came early, but th real curiosity is HOW MUCH of the storm system which early this morning is across on the other side of Lake Michigan will affect us by afternoon.
As we often tell you, it’s a good day to UNPLUG your expensive electronics when leaving for work this morning if they’re not on a battery backed-up UPS. Standard power strips do NOTHING to help with surges except giving you the switch to shut OFF things that are sensitive to power interruptions. Get that cellpone charged up in case of outages later today….with saturated soil and high winds, it’s likely some trees will “interact” with some power lines somewhere in our listening area.
We will, of course be IN-STUDIO for the J and J midday show through noon, and after that if necessary, watching radar for you….and keeping you up to date.
Don’t forget…you can TEXT TO WION any pictures of damage from storms, or info on traffic, or other emergencies ANY TIME at 616-527-WION and we’ll get your text! You’re our eyes and ears during storms!
Have a SAFE midweek, and comment below by scrolling down to “reply” if you like!

Thanks for helping us get through the storm. With the warmer temperatures, I considered preparing the back deck for enjoying the outside. It was not a good day for setting out lawn furniture.
