Look at this headline, found in a box of about 2.5 pounds of old 1950's and early 1960's headlines that I was going through today in WION's back room....Almost laughable now that it's such a big deal seeing this, huh? And, this must be well before the fill-in of the opposite side of the road where M1CCU, Independent Bank, and Olivera's currently sit. Read the second wire story! And, there's […]
Saturday March 28th was a GREAT "rite of Spring" for many people including Jim Carlyle and Phil Cloud from WION! We were invited to broadcast from the Lowell Community Expo and we had a blast. News these days is important, in the proper doses. WION Radio has always had a news source on the air. We began with the Michigan Radio Network and CBS. M.R.N. went away, and we picked up what we have now, the Michigan News Network. On the “larger side” of news, we started with CBS. They were owned by a large corporation, and THEY “lost us” during a corporate buyout and […]

I was fortunate this past weekend to attend an event in Akron, Ohio with two very good friends. The event was postponed from January due to bad weather and I was the beneficiary of being able to attend on the delayed date. The event was called "Dead Media Market" and, the event was anything BUT "dead." We got there as it opened and stood in line. In the lobby were […]
Brought to you exclusively by WION Advertisers! Please thank them! March 16th, 7PM at the Ionia Theatre!
To our valued Lowell listeners on 100.3.... We hope you know that whenever there is an issue with our signal on 100.3 we are notified and we do our very BEST to get it back on for you. Without lengthy explanations, just know that we deal with two different Internet Service Providers to get you the audio for your Kent County Signal. Sometimes one or the other has issues. When […]
Just wanted to let anyone concerned know that we ARE aware of the outage of Lowell's 100.3, WION-FM. It appears to have started about 5:30 this morning, the 10th of December, and came ON again about an hour later, but is off as of this writing at 9:45 Wednesday morning. When the weather clears for safer traveling and I can get a vehicle to the site, we'll investigate. The equipment […]
When we're not bringing you Jim and Justin or Edwards' Archives, or our Noon Newsblock, or "Totally 80's Flashback" or...Turntable Trainwrecks, or Popeye John's Monday Night Classic Rock"....or Barry Scott's Lost 45's....we're still working hard to bring you a great station with music and information EVERY hour!
