Treasures for Troops-All you Need to Know!

Background

THE 2023 “Treasures for Troops” Drive is complete

It was announced on wion during the J and J Midday Show on Monday the 20th of November that working together, WION’s listeners, Friends, Advertisers, and Ionia and Saranac School Systems helped the Blue Star Mothers ship out 198 boxes to servicemen and women who are far from home!

We’re so proud of this year’s effort, given the bad economy we’re all living in!
We never dreamt that we’d get this many boxes filled and sent this year.

In WHATEVER way you contributed, all of us who work on “Treasures for Troops” are grateful, and proud of you!

Enjoy some pictures taken at Reurink Roofing and Siding, our depot this year for storing donations, assembling boxes, sorting, and boxing!
Feel free to save any of these pictures, share them, and share this page, too!

WHAT IS NEEDED:

This is a list of needs, basically the same over the past decade of us doing this drive.
Download the needs list by clicking here  or  on the picture of the list below.  Please circulate this list, and help others to know about this yearly drive and the needs of our deployed military!

WION Thanks the Saranac Community Schools’ Elementary grades for making plenty of cards to be sent in the boxes this year to our troops!  It’s a tradition that goes back to the beginning of this drive, and we are once again, grateful for this very personal  and “learning” experience that the Saranac Schools present to their youngest grades.  It’s a huge effort and a wonderful boost to those who receive these cards!
