Perhaps the next time I go to Cedar point I should ask them for a discount because I drove from Ionia Michigan?
Maybe I shouldn’t have to pay to cross the Mackinac Bridge because I’m from West Central LOWER MICHIGAN?
Perhaps whatever I order from Amazon that has to come clear across the country should be reduced because it’s making the trip clear across the country and I actually have to WAIT for it?
Where in the hell did this entitlement attitude come from…such that “I have to drive to go buy what I want from you…therefore you should reduce the price for me!”
It’s a mentality that is really getting old as a seller of my collection… and…one by one it’s driving me away from wanting any interpersonal connections derived from the sale of things that I want to re-home … thus helping me to downsize as I get nearer retirement….
Enough ranting for now, I need to go across town and buy a gallon of milk… which I’m sure will be reduced when I explain to the store manager I had to (drive) cross over the grand river and go up the hill to get to the big box store of America..
It’s OK to ask me when I am selling something if it’s my best price… (And do it politely)…. but I don’t care how far from me you’ve come to buy. The two factors have nothing in common.
Sometimes you have to go GET what you want… investing your own time, and whatever money it takes to get there.
But oh, that would make sense, wouldn’t it? And of course it doesn’t in our entitled country these days.
