Tuesday is Monday plus one.
Hi. Jim here. The web is not cooperating today. The world doesn't want me to use technology today. So, I've posted. But not what I wanted, nor what you wanted. Enjoy your Tuesday.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for the development of strong to servere storms in....and close....to the watch area which is quite a large area, given the list of counties, below!
So, what happens when Consumers' Energy "blinks" the power too many times? SMART bulbs become dumb again and are all asking for individual resets! This happened last week at the WION offices in the "gameroom" and other locations. This is one reason to shut OFF electronics and sensitive electrical things in hot weather when power outages could happen due to load on the grid. Enjoy what Justin and I saw […]
Good News for Lowell! The "Broadcast Hill" weatherstation, located on Lowell's City broadcast site near the NE water plant is back online! You can get the latest weather forecasts, rain total, wind speed, temperature, and more from this cooperative effort between WION and the City of Lowell. It's available on our website anytime on the link adjacent to WION's studio link on our main page! You can copy the link if […]
Justin's Trivia Question was partly or mostly "riddle" form today....and we did not get an answer. Up for grabs is a gift certificate for $20 to any of the next Estate Sales from J and T Antiques and Estates! Here's the clues... 1.)RIDGES AND VALLEYS I HAVE APLENTY BUT MY RESIDENTS WILL NOT LEAVE GENTLY (ever had a tooth pulled? Its not gentle.) 2.) I START AS 2 HALVES HOLDING […]
I have some "Alexa" controlled devices. My life, however does not depend on them working. I can still turn a light on or off myself, and never "over-animated" my home with too much web-based/voice-activated stuff. Earlier this afternoon, the WION "Skill" was unreachable my Amazon. Our "Weatherflow" skill also went down....and, I randomly checked some of my Amazon accounts personal skills. Some worked, some did not, but this was early […]
For those of you who have not been over to the "team" pages to meet Isabelle, the station dog (and Jim Carlyle's best buddy) here she is, in the early morning after breakfast but BEFORE waking up to go gether 6-week hair trim...and AFTER. Almost a different dog altogether. (many voices now ala' the movie "Airplane" say) "Almost a dfferent dog" Slide over to Isabelle's page and meet the REST […]
Regular listeners to our J and J Midday show know that every other week, Justin and I exchange positions in the studio, one taking the seat at the controls, the other at the round table. (literally the "round table.") This keeps both of us polished in operating the station and dealing with multi-tasking the three computers, on-air phones, text inbox, emails, and everything that makes up our show. This week, […]
Jim Carlyle here. I don't agree with all the people, nor the way in which AM is being portrayed as "Emergency Services Need (only)" But, if it gets automakers to retain AM in vehicles, my industry wins. However, the people both ASKING the questions (congress) and those representing AM in this hearing (the "panel" ) in my estimation were poorly prepared if not poorly chosen. The "localism" presented by AM […]
