2024’S TREASURES FOR TROOPS OFFICIAL PAGE

It's hard to believe but it's been ten years since wion started the annual “Treasures for Troops” campaign. Ten years of your generous donations and putting smiles on the faces of military members far from home. This year, WION has happily turned over the event to our partner, the Blue Star Mothers of Ionia, Kent, and Montcalm counties, and we fully support their collecting, packing, and mailing as always. So, […]

POLITICS SHOULD NOT SPONSOR NEWSCASTS-AT LEAST HERE!

It has come to our attention that the Michigan News Network is once again accepting (if not soliciting) advertisements either directly FROM political candidates for federal positions, OR their "PACs." The Michigan News Network is delivered via the internet, not satellite, so we are not able to edit out political ads, even though they come at the end of the 'cast when they are scheduled.  I have notified the MNN […]

Apologies to Barry Scott Lost 45 Listeners…

Apparently not all of the segments for the countdown this week made it to "air" on WION. While there is no reschedule of this three-hour program feature, you CAN catch his segments missed on his website this week.  Barry always releases the show on his site AFTER they've played on local affiliates.  Visit his website here. Sometimes technology lets us down.  Programs you hear on WION such as our Townhall […]

A polite request so we can “see” your town online…

Our carrier for streaming, "Live 365" recently changed how we see what are called the "analytics" of our (online)  listenrship.  Justin and I always LOVED reading off the towns, followed by the state or, sometimes the COUNTRY in which people listen.  It lets us be more "personal" with you, our friends and listeners.   With a recent update on their user platform, we can no longer see this info. Now we […]

Have you read your WION-FM Car Radio Lately?

A long time ago, in a station not so far away... WION had a system common to FM stations called "RDS" which is where you can read information on your (mainly) car radios about artist, title, or other interesting things.  A former engineer of ours wrote his own program, […]

Sorry to see this WION Show Go….

WION received an e-mail on June 11th that the program we've added on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons called, "Psycho Jello Radio" is ending production.  It's been airing Saturday mornings at 8 AM and Sundays at 3PM. Insert Sigh here. It was a nice fit for us, and many of […]
