We try to mention on days when it’s (continuously) above 90 or flirting with 90 degrees to be “conservative” in electric use. It could be coincidence, it could be overusage of the local grid, but the “outage roulette” has begun this afternoon. Parts of our listening area in town are without power.
Please check on your elderly neighbors and any pets that rely on air conditioning…restoration times are predicted for this evening, but the hottest part of the day is yet to come.
Our area is not alone, down in Hillsdale County’s area, more outages are on the Consumer’s system. We’d lay odds there will be more this afternoon.
Be careful and check on neighbors, pets, and shut off any “sensitive” electronics that can be hurt through the surges that happen when power either goes away, or is restored. WION’s generator will keep us on the air and streaming should power go out here.
