Justin at the helm of WION during a show, with a little help from my dog, Izzy.
Justin is taking some personal time off, (he started on Monday.)…and, I’m not exactly sure when he’ll be back “on” but I’m sure it’ll be soon. Just wanted to stop by your devices and assure you that the J and J show is returning, and…while it’s been some time since I worked alone EVERY day, I’ll do my best to bring you (some of) the things we usually do as a team.
Justin’s having taken over the control of the show at my request some time ago has been a definite refreshing change to the “tone” of things, and while I can certainly still sit in the “command module” of the station and turn all the knobs, push all the buttons and levers, and keep things in their proper timeslots, It’s just not the same without his wit and his weaving of somgs together based on their trail-outs and intros, their titles, and their topics. He’s just damn GOOD at this and so much more. He’s one of the best announcers I’ve worked-with in my 36 years behind the mic.
So, my friends…if you can put up with me for a few more days, the J and J Midday show will soon return as it has-been and I’ll be back at the round table as co-host, and…things will get back to normal. Besides, Izzy misses her “Uncle Justin” something awful! They’re best-buds!
Please continue to text me in the studio at 616-527-WION anytime, and I’ll take your requests, comments, and even your questions and comments.

Justin's question on Tuesday was, "This item, available in Ionia cost 35 cents in 1945, what's the item? The answer was, "A TICKET TO THE IONIA THEATRE" It came from this ad in a vintage newspaper. Thank you J and T Antiques and Estates for the newspapers!
As many of you know, the Lowell frequency for WION Radio has been off the air since Saturday afternoon of this previous weekend. I was out of town when the notification came to me by a longtime listener. Our equipment is set to automatically shut down the 100.3 transmitter if […]
