On Monday, March 11th, and with an extremely heavy and breaking heart, I witnessed Isabelle returning to her maker in the presence of two of her favorite uncles.
I held Isabele’s head, and two of her favorite uncles, including the one who saved her were petting her as she slipped away from us to her maker.
I had less than three years with Isabelle, but her incredible spirit stole a HUGE part of my heart…which will not be allocated to any other furry family member again….
I’m devastated ….and my home is too quiet. I got to read to her something I wrote about her being in my life. I got to pray for her before she departed and after. Her Uncle T. who saved her from the shelter and gave her to me got to spend time with her in the daytime, and her other uncle “B” who accompanied Isabelle on this departure and was with us was visibly hurting due to the love we ALL have for Isabelle and the times we’ve shared with her. I’m so glad they were there….words can’t describe the love in that room between Isabelle and each or us, too.
I never thought I’d love a little dog as much as I loved her.
I bet I have THOUSANDS of pictures and at least HUNDREDS of videos that I’ll be SO glad to have as time goes on. My morning walk with her today was me, with her spirit along-side. Makes me glad we carry cameras with us for all those special moments in our lives. I miss her more every minute today.
I’ll write more for her FULL chapter in my “radio” book…but for now, I’ll leave it with this…my thoughts on her life with me, her uncles, and our WION Radio family:
Isabelle’s assignment on earth was to be loved and she certainly WAS….but more importantly it was to give and spread UNCONDITIONAL LOVE as only certain dogs can. She went home to take her final exam from God….and I’m sure, VERY sure, that on that assignment, she got not only an A-Plus, but “Extra Credit.”
I miss you, Isabelle. We all do.
You’ll always be my girl….and, I’m SO SORRY I couldn’t fix what was wrong. I’m SO sorry. But, I LOVE YOU.
When I wrote this, Facebook had been down about 15 minutes. It's near an hour now. Messed up pretty good with things showing in the wrong categories, some people not able to get "in" while others have different issues. It's "all over the place." The funny part is, "Downdetector […]
It's hard to believe but it's been ten years since wion started the annual “Treasures for Troops” campaign. Ten years of your generous donations and putting smiles on the faces of military members far from home. This year, WION has happily turned over the event to our partner, the Blue […]
