I came into the studio today to find streaming down, Lowell down, and no internet. I’m posting this backup via Starlink, which allows me to stream but will not carry our Lowell audio. It appears the “new” system they have where their “latest and greatest” modem won’t support our static IP address (meaning we need a second SPECTRUM box to do that) has failed. The modem is fine, but THEIR secondary box is not working.
This means that artist and title will only be periodically updated, but your ONLINE audio to our LIve 365 will be fine. Our internet stream manager Scott is manually updating most of the artist and title information from his office in Connecticut.
It’s been an hour on the phone with SPECTRUM, and it appears they need to send someone to replace the box that we never needed had we KEPT our old modem which was working fine. Never lost an IP address in 18 years with the OLD system. Luckily, this time, it’s proven to be their equipment INSIDE the building which they have to fix, and a tech will arrive AFTER our midday show at some point.
